Kloppmyra is a large spruce and pine forest in Nord-Odal, right outside Eidsvoll, spanning 529 daa with young and old trees, downfall and dead wood. It includes multiple mires with a high carbon stock and serves as habitat for large game wildlife as well as multiple species of birds of prey.
Kloppmyra is a large spruce and pine forest in Nord-Odal, right outside Eidsvoll, spanning 529 daa with young and old trees, downfall and dead wood. It includes multiple mires with a high carbon stock and serves as habitat for large game wildlife as well as multiple species of birds of prey. Before the preservation agreement the forest was classified as Hogstklasse 5, meaning harvesting was imminent. Through an exclusive contractual agreement with the landowner, Fossagrim secures undisturbed forest growth and natural CCS through CO2 sequestration for a minimum of 30 years, with a total discounted climate benefit estimated at 4,073 tonnes CO2.
