Sæteråsen, near Harstad, is celebrated as Fossagrim's first Arctic Habitat Forest, in a region with more than 3,000 years of settlement history that served as a Viking Age political and religious center. Historically dominated by birch and broadleaf forests, the area was planted with Norway spruce during Norway's 1940s national reforestation program, and those forests have since matured.

Today it is a valued green space with recreational trails, supporting biodiversity, carbon storage and local community use. Fossagrim and the landowner have secured an exclusive agreement guaranteeing undisturbed forest growth for at least 30 years, with a total discounted climate benefit estimated at 4,961 tonnes CO2.
