Due to its terrain the forest has traditionally been only lightly managed, leaving old trees and deadwood habitats of high ecological and cultural value. The 1,540 daa project combines ecosystem services for biodiversity and natural carbon storage. An exclusive agreement between Fossagrim and the landowner secures continued and undisturbed forest growth for at least 30 years, with a total discounted climate benefit estimated at 3,760 tonnes CO2.
