Stugudalen takes its name from Stufra, the old name of the river connecting Stugusjøen and Mosjøen in Tydal, about 75 km southeast of Trondheim. The area shows evidence of human presence from before 1500 BC, and farms have existed here since the Viking Age.
Stugudalen takes its name from Stufra, the old name of the river connecting Stugusjøen and Mosjøen in Tydal, about 75 km southeast of Trondheim. The area shows evidence of human presence from before 1500 BC, and farms have existed here since the Viking Age. The 6,062 daa property comprises forests, non-productive forests, wetlands and mountain areas, including biotopes for several species of grouse. Fossagrim and the landowner have committed to an exclusive contractual agreement securing undisturbed forest growth, preservation of nature values and natural carbon sequestration for a minimum of 30 years, with an estimated climate benefit of 8,671 tonnes CO2.
