Norway, BergenToppe Gård
Toppe Gård is a flower and vegetable farm outside Bergen, starting biochar production in summer 2026. The project creates a local use for wood and agricultural residues while producing carbon removal. A Biomacon C-224 system converts the residues into stable biochar, with heat also used in the greenhouse production.
The project uses clean leftover wood from landscaping projects and regional forestry, alongside residues from the farm and greenhouses. Around 50–70% of the heat produced will be used to heat the farm’s greenhouses, with the remainder used to dry feedstock. Production is expected to reach approximately 175 tonnes of biochar annually.
